Mesa M9 carbine EQ's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all, I just picked up a Mesa M9 carbine and Powerhouse 1200(1-15 & 4-10's) cabinet. While Mesa offers a variety of eq settings, in the included manual, I'd like to hear how other players are running their Rigs. Please include the basses being used and the type of music predomminantly being played. I'd like to hear mainly from other M9 users, but this is an open discussion. Thanks everybody.

Ive played thru the M9 Several times on several different Bass's. THe best sound I get is mostly with everything flat. maybe a touch more bass or a touch of mid cut. mostly it depends on the room and the ability for the bass to control its tone. For me you cant beat the M9 though. One of my favorite amps of the 21st century.

When I had my M6, I liked to use the 5th position on the shape knob with the bass cut to about 9 or 10 o'clock and treble cut a bit. This gave more of a low-mid punch vs. the sometimes excessive bassiness that amp could give. I always played with the bass cut to some degree on that amp. The mid knob could be very powerful too, but I never settled on that one before I sold the amp (fell in love with the Walkabout again!).

Touch of bass boost, pull-deep engaged, dimed mids, treble at 2:00 or so, touch of compression, voice knob to taste.

Rock cover band. 08 Am Fender J5 (passive) Voice 2 or 3(flat), rotary mids, bass and treble at noon, eq either off or boosted between 100-300 Hz (or occasionally cut around 60-150 if in a boomy room),
compression controls at 9 and 2 o'clock.
