Ive been eyeing off a Mesa Boogie M9 Carbine and just wanted some advice on interchanging cabs and heads.
Ive always run my GK head with the GK cab, and have always wondered what issues i need to look out for if i decided to stick with the same cab for a while longer. Its mainly the 4ohms and 2ohms etc. talk that is confusing me and making me think twice because i dont want to destroy my cab by using an incompatible head with it.
Im currently running a GK1001RB-II into a RBX410 cab.
Any thoughts/ advice would be great!

Whats the ohms mean then, thats the part that was putting me off because the RBX i recall i think said something about 8ohms, and the M9 says "900 Watts @ 4 or 2 Ohms"

Reason: changed wattage on RBX

Ohms is impedance-the cab and head are matched well for that, but the head has enough juice to melt the speaker voice coils if turned up. Plan on getting a better cab with that head, or save bucks and get a Mesa M3 for 799 that has the perfect power match for the cab (300 watts). It'll sound like the M9 without the eq and compressor.

Anyways, ill be looking to get another cab to run with the m9 in the near future, i just wanted to make sure that im not going to destroy the RBX410 in the meantime
Thanks for your input Lomo.

If you are running a second cab, an identical 410 would be best BUT, IME you're better off selling the GK and getting another, better 410 (or 212). Just my 02.
