Mesa/Orange rig opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone. I was looking into a possible rig with a Mesa Boogie M6 or M9 Carbine head, paired with an Orange SP410 Isobaric Speaker Cabinet.

Just wondering if anyone has tried either of these and wondering how they would sound together.

Thanks for the help

There's no question that both Mesa and Orange make oustanding equipment. Personally, I prefer to match cabs and heads although many out there do not share this opinion.
I elected to go with the new Acoustic 360. I had been a longtime fan of Acoustic and jumped on the chance to get the new rig once it was released. I wasn't disappointed - it's a killer bass amp.

While I haven't used the iso 410, I have used the is 110 and iso112.
These are darker cabs by nature, and would not be optimal at representing the M6/9's native tone in the best possible way.
If you actively want a darker tone, then maybe it would suit you.

The Orange Terror head is a bad-mofo, and mates with the iso cabs very well.

I think isobaric cabs are highly over-rated. They have been tried before but they never seem to catch on. Of course as soon as you say this in an on-line forum everybody who likes them will chime in. However, in my opinion it's kind of a ploy to make you think they have come up with some earth-shattering new design, when they have not.

If I'm going to lug around the weight of a 410, I want all of those 10's giving me all they've got and they just don't in an isobaric design. This is of course, just one man's opinion.

Point made, but, it doesn't address the OP's question.

I was essentially saying, I would get something else!

Thank you for the input! I don;t think it's enough to make my decision for me, but it definitely helped
