Mesa PH vs. GK Neo

If this has been done before then feel free to point it out but I have a Mesa M9 and I'm looking for a decent mid-sized cab to take on the road since we tend to travel light. A Mesa Powerhouse would be an obvious choice but I'm very intrigued by the GK Neos because of the price and the light weight. I haven't owned a Powerhouse in nearly 2 years and found them to be a bit wooly when used with my former Titan V12. Haven't tried a PH with a Carbine head. Anyone had a chance to A/B them?

I've played a M6 through a GK Neo115-III. Sounded awesome. The Mesa PH cabs sound good but I prefer the GK myself. Seems to be more my sound. The m6 was a great match for this cab.

I'd be curious to hear your M9 through the Neo212.

I have no experience with the Gold series GK cabs - but Mesa heads and cabs sound very unique and LOUD! Very clear and defined bass tone with plenty of highs and lows. Mids are there too, just not much in the 200-400hz zone but you can easily dial that back in with the M9's EQ. Honestly, you need to try the Mesa cabs and the GK cabs out before you decide. The new PH cabs are really heavy - the 410's are 92lbs. Worth every ounce in my opinion - I have two!

Good bass tone starts with your hands.

The GK neos are amazing. I have the 412, kicks serious bootay. Lots of people retiring their old fridges for these.

I think it may be the Titan you were using that gave you the wool. I'm not into the "tube sound" at all. The M9 IMHO reminded me of my old WT800 but a more Mesa like if that makes any sense.

I use it with a ph412, no wool. I like the GK cabs alot from what I've tried and heard. Not to be a fan boy, but i don't think the GK's are in the same league with the mesa's. I actual took the mesa over the Berg NV412 with no regrets.
