Anybody use a Mesa PH1200 cab?? It sure looks like it could cause a nosebleed. I was wondering how it would match up with a Mesa M9 or Titan V12?? Thanks.

| | | I'd go with Mesa cabs. They sound great with Mesa heads. Check out these demo video's from their site http://mesaboogie.com/news/2010/08/m...bass-cab-demo/
Incidentally, I recently bought a V-12 rather than the M9. I found the M9 almost too crisp.. a little sterile and "glassy" sounding. The warmth of the Titan works better for me and the overdrive channel is absolutely killer. Plus, with the A/B and the overdrive channels you can dial in 4 different tone options. Awesome amp. |

I've tried it with the M9 and Titan heads with the same result - kind of mushy, lacking in mid character. I'm not one to dismiss the idea of a 410 and 115 together -- I've heard and played good pairings. But the all in one PH1200 doesn't sound as good as many and it's heavy to manage all in one box. Apart from that, Mesa cabs are the bomb - I play a pair of Mesa 115s currently with an MPulse.

I chose it for the better mids, I know a 610 will go lower but for my style it sounds better. It still has lowend, but the mids cut so nice with fingerstyle, slap is sick too. |

The cabinet delivers strong lows and clear highs at silly volumes if necessary. I've owned a vast array of cabinet configurations over the years and I've found the PH1200 to be the best in terms of portability, volume potential and tonal range. Plenty of TB "experts" say it sounds like crap though so, basically, you really have to do a side by side comparison to see if it works for you. |

| | | | Screw the haters, play it and decide for yourself. I have the older PH1000 and I love it! the thing is a monster and I get compliments on it at every show that I play! I've let bassists in other bands who are used to 6x10s or 8x10s use it to save loading time at shows and they always finish their set and are blown away by my powerhouse! It doesn't sound muddy or lacking in character at all.
Also, it's not heavy to manage either. It's most certainly easier to move than an 8x10, and no more difficult than a 6x10. Mesa designed these cabs for portability really well too.. One person tilts it back and rolls it on it's wheels and when it's time to put it on stage, the other grabs the huge rubber feet in the bottom and lifts it up. I've been gigging with mine for 4 years, it's never given me a problem, this thing is a tank, and is very easy to move.
Play it for yourself and decide if you like it or not. Don't let the haters talk you out of a good cab that you've never played.

If this is still the case and you want to see what MESA has check out the walkabout combo in 8 Ohms and add an extension cabinet. If you don't care about weight, you want a verity of tones and insane volume, try out the V-12 and a MESA 8X10. Cheers.

I sold the 400+ and have paired it with a few different heads and they all sound awesome.

I play everything from metal to funk. A lot of times I tune my bass to A and it does a fantastic job in the lower registers.

Exactly - most that sing the praises of the PH1000 and 1200 haven't made that direct comparison - I have, and more than once...

Everyone has their own views and are entitled to them. I have always been a fan of the 410/115 set up.
The PH 1000/PH 1200 and the 610, are Mesa's medium size rigs. The PH 412 and PH 810 are their big hitters. I can put my PH 1000 in the back seat of a Volvo. The bigger cabs you're going to need a pickup.
