I need some input from you Mesa Boogie users. I am looking at buying a second rig for playing in a metal band. This is what I am looking at either the M9 or the V12 and I want to get either a 1200, 810 or 412 PH cab. I want to get your honest feedback. I am looking for a warmer sound and I want to push some air.
I don't play death metal, I play progressive metal and I use Warwick neck through basses for the tone. I have tried both heads and I like them both but I have only tried them in a store.
I want to get the input from you Mesa guys out there.
Thanks for your time.

The M9 is still somewhat warm/round, but with a low-mid scoop and some upper mid to lower treble push, and on the whole, a lot more clarity. The Titan will be more full, beefy, and wooly sounding. It's not muddy, per se, but definitely warmer than the M9.
Cab-wise, any of those should work well for you. I might also suggest throwing in the PH610. It's a good bit easier to move around than the PH810, and it covers a lot of the same ground as the others. |

Just ridiculous headroom and volume though. I easily destroyed playing against 2 150W half stacks with my Master on 10:00.
So you can crush anyone with it. If you want a smaller head you could opt for the Big Block 750 and keep the Titan's character and then get a bigger/better cab.
EDIT: More power than the 400+? That's 300W all tube bro. They don't come bigger than that! |

Anyway, the Titan is pretty heavy to move around but again the volume and headroom that amp has is unrivaled for hybrid amps. The 412 though, is just killer no matter what's played through it. I seriously regret moving that one. |

I had an M6 (I loved the sound) for a while and then returned it when I found a used 400+, and I haven't looked back since. You can find them here or on ebay for under a grand.
