Mesa Walkabout with Powerhouse 1x15

I have been looking at a used walkbout and a powerhouse 1x15.
There are two different powerhouse cabs one is rated at 400 and one at 600. I know the 600w is 8 ohms. I don't know the ohms on the 400. Will a walkabout power one of those its rated at 360 at 4 ohms and 165 at 8, but that head doesn't have trouble powering a walkabout scout combo with 1x15

It's going to be a better, more efficient setup with a 4ohms cab.

But yes, it will work with either...

thanks i'll have to call on the other speaker and see about it.

I have an earlier, 400W powerhouse 1x15, and it's 8 ohm.

Do you like the single 15 and what are you driving it with?

They are both going to be 8 ohms. Just the 400w is the older version, that's all.

If that's the case, and the OP still wants a 15" driver, then I would suggest looking into something else....

No, if you're going with a small cab, like a 115, 210, 112, it SHOULD be an 8 ohm cab, so you're able to add a 2nd cab tyo it. Makes no sense to use a small 4 ohm cab with that amp. None. "Getting all the watts" is a goal that is based in mythology.

Agreed 100% - with today's wattage as cheap as it is, it's not hard to get an amp that'll push 300 or more watts thru an 8 ohm load - and a smaller cab like that realy can't use much more than that, anyways... I've been using a Streamliner 900 thru a RR115 with a blues band side project, and it's more than enough for that...
