Methods of Combining Sansamp RPM & RBI

Sign in to disble this ad
I use my RPM & RBI mostly running Bi-amped & sometimes infront of each other but i wanted some new configurations.
Im curious about how others combine both of them into a Poweramp ? I used to use a Bassamp but now i use a Poweramp & im trying to find out how to link them in ways that arent in the manaul.
Thank You Bassists & Keep Rockin.

Search for a JGR thread titled: Something cool for RBI/RPM owners. It describes how you can do a parallel mix to a single channel of a power amp.

Hi JimmyM but i think your sorts right.Well i went over some of that thread & yes you can hook them up in ways that are not in the norm. I connected them to my Poweramp in a way that actaully has two seperate signals that can mixed together at will but i have to stress that its pretty confusing trying to get an even balance of tone.
I think i may give JGR a call. The RPM has a bigger & stronger signal than the RBI so the RBI has to be cranked a more than the RPM. Im still trying different things with them.

Hey, responded to your PM.

These preamps are pretty flexible - you can run them biamp as shown in the manual, set them up for channel switching as shown in the manual, or run them in parallel as I've posted in the past.

What JGR said. I used to run them in series, but JGR's parallel method totally rocks.

I keep the RBI as my primary and dial in RPM to taste, because the RBI is brighter (due to its Presence control) and I have a tweeterless cabinet. The primary/secondary thing makes more sense if you have the diagram... sorry, it's not intuitive and I can't explain it off the top of my head, but I assume Growly now has it!

Yes Yes thanks guys ! I too have no tweets & after using the RBI with the RPM linked i need that Presence there. Its just an awesome control. The RPM cant get that much top-end.Go fat with the RPM & mix in a little bit of the Presence of the RBI & presto !!
Thanks again.
All i need now is two little `Blue Lights` like all of you have, so i can get that better sound out of them too.
Ive been waiting on Remo but he must be very busy ???
Keep Rockin.
