MF Discounts-What's Next and What Strategy?

So, I'm about ready to pull the trigger on an Ampeg PF-500 amp head and I'm looking for a deal at MF. I like MF for a variety of reasons, so I'll probably stick with them.
The PF-500 is $400, and there is currently a $50 discount going on. I figure there will be a Father's Day weekend sale coming up, so that's usually 15% off ($60 off), but I would love to get 20% ($80!) off.
They usually do some sort of price matching and/or beating, so I'm wondering what the best strategy is in the next month, or so, to get the best deal.
There is, also, July 4th coming up, so that's usually a discount weekend. (Happy Independence Day!! Go USA)
Anyway, anyone else plotting their discount strategy in the next month, or so?

4th of July and Labor Day used to be really good sales at GC and MF but now they exempt so many things that I don't even look anymore.

i wait until i find something condition 1 used, then i get it on a holiday
(that worked for my new to me g&l sb2, 850 plus a case isn't bad)

Yeah, I'm wary of used or returned amps. For me, amps are the most twitchy of electronics, so I usually only go brand-new.
Good tip for basses, though.

I got my PF500/PF115 on a 15% off sale (Pres Day) at MF. No exemption on Ampeg. For a brief time they were offering $100 off when you bought the head and cab together so that was 15% off $699 not $799 -- or under $600 for the whole rig shipped free to my door. And they honored that on a back order! Killer deal on a killer rig. My guess is there will be 15% off for Fathers Day and the 4th. MF matches GC and others sales too.
