Mini / Belt Clip amps!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys!

I'm looking for something I can take around with me and play on the run, small enough to just clip onto my belt.

I was looking at this:

Amazon.com: Rocktron VG-08 8 Watt Portable Belt Clip Amplifier: Musical Instruments

And this:

Amazon.com: Orange Amplifiers Micro Crush PiX 3 Watt Amp: Musical Instruments

Does anyone know if these are good with bass guitars, or have good experience with another micro amp?

Really appreciate it!

Why not get a headphone amp? I'm not thinking bass through a single 3" speaker is going to anything but make people think you have gas. I am also hung over right now, so excuse if that didn't make sense.

+1 a headphone amp is the way to go. Those micro amps won't last long with a bass run through it.

+1 headphone amp, I have a KORG PX4D and it's cool,

if your trying to play with acoustic guitars in a park or something an ABG is the only logical choice, I havn't played EB thru a battery powered amp that was worth a crap.

I have one of the little marshall ones that runs on a 9V battery. Sounds much better through the headphone jack than the tiny internal speaker so yeah, it pretty much is a headphone amp.

I just picked up one of these for my daughter to use when practicing her keyboard: AmpliTube iRig

It plugs into an iPod/iTouch. I has amp modeling and functions as a trainer as well where you can slow songs down and play along.

The KORG PXD5 is a great little pocket amp as well, plus you can use it as a USB interface.

One is a Dean Bass in a Box (with a strap clip) and the other is a Pocket Rocket for bass. Both are decent products.
