Mixing cabs of same speaker size but different brands...?

In a perfect world I'd build my own fEarful/BFM cabs or perhaps order them from LDS. Unfortunately, yours truly is a starving college student in sunny Singapore, where dealers are few and shipping from USA is prohibitively high.

Hence this:

I'm currently using the Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0 with the STL-10T cabinet, a 1x10" with a tweeter at 8 ohms. I'm thinking of getting a Hartke 210XL, which is a 2x10" without tweeter at 8 ohms. The basic aim of this is to get the full 300 watts from the Shuttle 3.0 and to triple my speaker area, giving me both extra loudness and headroom.

I'd like to ask y'all for for advice on whether there are any potential issues with stacking these two cabs vertically in a row with the Hartke cab on the bottom and the Genz Benz cab+head on top. There might be phasing issues with the cabs, but I've checked and there is room to move the Genz Benz around to line up all the drivers. Since the Hartke is tweeterless there probably aren't any issue with high frequency dispersion as well, since only 1 tweeter is providing the high end.

I'm just not sure if there're other issues I'm not aware of, hence this thread. Any advice/thoughts are appreciated!

That puts half your power into the 1x10 and half into the 2x10. You need a 4 ohm 2x10 to make it right, if your amp will handle the 2.7 ohm load.

Shouldn't be any problem, you will have plenty of speaker capacity regardless of power distribution (in your application) so you won't hurt anything. The only thing to watch out for is that the polarities are the same. Not all manufacturers follow the standard polarity wiring (or magnetization) so if you lose low end when using both cabinets that's an indicator thatt he second cabinet's polarity is reversed.

A 4 ohm 210 would be a better choice from a power distribution aspect but won't work in your case since the Shuttle's minimum load is 4 ohms.

Thank you both. The power handling for both cabs are 200watts, so splitting 150watts each is good, and what I intended.

Agedhorse I'll be sure to watch out for that should I get this setup.
