The mini 10 on the bottom is a good bit brighter than the ELF 10's ( which are actually pretty full range without the ELF module ) and adds a nice cut when standing a few feet away . Anyone else mix cabs , let's see'em ! |

If I own a Peavey, then I build a Peavey stack. Same for any other brand.
It prolly wrinkles noses when I say that - but I feel that a stage presence is important and if you arrive with a mixed bag of amps, speakers cabs and what appears to be a jumble of swap meet gear, I feel it detracts from the overall band's eye appeal.
That's maybe just me, but I like unity in design and if I can get a brand that does what I need without the bandstand looking like a yard sale in progress, so much the better.

As far as visual appeal...If anyone is paying attention to your gear onstage it's because of one of two things...
They are musicians checking out your gear, or...
You, or your band sucks.

The other Vortexion transistor amp is for an optional bright box which is a 6 X 5" at the moment but not shown in this photo.
I use a Yamaha 1 Bnd Parametric Ne1 to scoop if needed and an old ibanez tube screamer for the dirty bits: |

As far as using different brands of gear when it comes to amplification, I am all for it, unless there is good deal through an endorsement agreement. In my case, the amps and cabinets I prefer have never been from the same brand; and therefore, I killed quite a few endorsement deals (which were not great any way).

so I recently bought an Orange OBC115 and a Avatar 210neo to go with my VR but its still hasn't arrived. i`m pretty curious to see how that combination works out.

The Schroeder is aggressive and throaty, nice complement to the less efficient, but fuller, avatar. Basses: heavily modified '71 Jazz, fretless, w/ SCNs; Rob Allen MB2-5, fretless; old Schecter diamond elite four. The cab combo works in a wide range of contexts.
