mod a 4 ohm ampeg 2x10 portabass to an 8ohm

hey bass pros,

i have a 4ohm ampge 2x10 portabass cabinet. sadly, but not too surprisingly i loaned it out, and it was returned with blown speakers. since i need to replace the speakers anyway, i'd like to change it from a 4ohm cab to an 8 ohm cab. i think the original has two 8ohm speakers wired to get to 4ohm. i'm assuming that i just need to get two 16 ohm speakers to arrive at my desired 8 ohms.

1. is this really, just this simple, or is there something i'm missing?
2. also, what speakers would you recommend as replacements? (i'll be running it with an 8ohm 15" cab)

It really is that simple! And if you have an easier time finding 4 ohm speakers, just wire them in series and you'll also have 8 ohms.
