Modding a closed cab...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone!
So, I've finally gotten fed up with the little casters on my Hartke Hydrive 410.... And I would like to replace them with four 500lb rated casters (that I believe are 4-5in?).
Problem is, the cab is closed and I have no idea how deep the screws go in for the current casters. Furthermore, I don't have the money to replace a cab that I screw up... :P. So I just wanted to see if many others had done the same thing... And if so, any tips would be stellar!!

Thanks-

Just remove one screw of the current casters and see how long it is. Or am I stupid

Just go for decently wide 3" wheels. A lot lighter than 4" or 5" ones, yet more than sufficiently beefy, and so mch better than even ones that are even slightly smaller, as long as they are not the real skinny ones.

EDIT: Here's some info and links, and also consider lightweight handcarts: feet, casters, handcarts

You should be able to just take one screw out of one caster and match it with some new ones. Easy peasy...................... And I second greenboy's 3" caster recommendation.
