Modular System...Amp recomendation help
I am working on building my modular amp rig and the next step will be getting the most appropriate power amp. I already have a Monique that I use with an Art Pro Channel II. (The Art just gives me so many options for adjusting to rooms and cabs...I like it for now).
My quandary is which power amp would be the best match for my cabs. I am considering the Crest ProLite 2.0 or 3.0, the new Peavey IPR2 is interesting and others by QSC.
My current cabs are:
Epifani PS115 loaded with a Faital Pro 15FH520 (600 watts @4 ohm)
Berg HT322 (800 watts @4 ohm)
Genz Benz Focus 410 (600 watts @ 4 ohm)
Avatar Neo 212 (500 watts @ 4 ohm)
Will likely order a Berg CN212 (700 watts @4 ohm)
I am thinking that I may wait for the Crest ProLite 3.0 to be available in November since it seems to be a closer match with headroom to spare rated at 870 watts @4 ohms / 450 watts @8 ohm (also 2 ohm capable).
My concern is that the Crest Prolite 2.0 may be a little weak for the power hungry Berg HT322 and Faital loaded Epi with only 300 watts @ 8 ohms and 540 watts at 4 ohms (unbridged of course). This amp does bridge but seems like it may be too much bridged - 1160 watts @8 ohm and 2000 watts @4 ohms.
What are your opinions on these matching up and headroom in general?
