OK, so this was obviously a 2x15 guitar combo in its former life & the speakers and amp have been removed, but for $40 I said what the hell, right?
Anyway, I plan on making the old amp hole the new port, building a new back for the top speaker & sealing it up, and keeping the bottom speaker sealed. Obviously I'll do all of the bracing & carpeting and all that, but I'm wondering a couple things.
The port area is 16.75"x2.5". WinISD says the vent length for 50Hz should be 9 inches. Now, I'm wondering if that's a 9" board length (leaving 2.5" to the back of the cab) or does it need 9" of open air w/ the port board taking up the rest?
Also, what do you think of this freq response/gain curve (attached at the bottom)? Looking at the Jensen MOD15 speakers. Bottom (sealed) being the 120 and the top (ported) being the 200. Will having different powered speakers cause problems when putting a decently powered (~200Wish) tube amp on top? They'll both be 8Ohm speakers.
