Does anyone have the Acoustic Pre-amp Mod...either for sale or your review?
I have most of the mods except the HE mods(not convinced they're better).
I have a hankering for the Acoustic Pre-amp mod for my DB.

"use" them
BUT...in the above MarkBass box....is the Super MoMark bag....kinda pricey.....but really nice.!
I think it will hold both of my MoMarks inside and pouches for 4 mods, cords/cables, papers/sheet music, pens, cell phone. (7 external pouches) . Top handle and shoulder straps and it looks like a way to slip it over your gig bag and back-pack both at once. I am impressed with the quality of it.
I love the Markbass stuff. | BTW....I still LOVE the MoMark gig bag....very useful nice! It holds both MoMark frames.

There is few I don't have, but I really don't want them. The HE stuff or the 4 band EQ.
I have never been sold on the HE mods, and I have the two channel 4 band MOD.
Review of the acoustic pre amp mod to follow.

| | | | Diving in..., I picked up a used Momark SA500 a couple of days ago and love it, however while bonding with it today it suddenly went dead, power still on but no sound, I shut it off for a few second, turned it back on and it was fine. The master volume was about 1/2 way, and it was in to a 8 ohms cab. Anyone else experience this, or any ideas of cause? I hate the idea of returning it, it sounds so good!
Also I can't find a lot of info on how to use the EQ42S, can anyone point a knob challenged guy in the right direction.
Thanks for any help
I'll take a number please |

The eq42s mod is a 4 band eq with the mid two bands have a setable(sp?) frequency. a 2 band parmetric eq for the two midle bands. Markbass.com has the manuals you can download.
I had one of my Momarks stop like that once, never did it again.? Make double sure about your ohm cab ratings. Nothing below 4 Ohms!!!!

| | | | That's good news, good to know the cutout may be just an isolated incident, and yes, the cab is definetly 8 ohms.
I had a look at the general modules manual, not a lot of info. I was hoping there might be a more specific manual for that specific module.
Great sounding amp though. It's my first Markbass, is it comparible to the Little Mark series by way of performance?
Thanks |

Or does anyone have a used one they'd like to sell? |

| | | | My MoMark got me hooked on the MB heads. Got the 600watt 'Black' at the minute...anyone got some good experience of the eq44s-he? Love the eq42s I have but might be a bit of fun for the full range of Semi Parametric...? Would be great to grab a number while i'm here. Be part of a social group...

I'm hoping MB/GC will try to keep these in stock for more players to check out- what I really want is to find in their store is one of those MO module switcher thingamajig.
I suppose it's just as easy for customers to buy and return modules that aren't to their liking, but I would prefer to do an easy A/B comparison before a purchase.
2 1/2 years on the Mo and counting... |

Btw, what is the Black thing all about...looks like, same frame configured with selected mods?

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Connecticut, USA | | | EQ44S-HE I installed the 4-band HE semi-parametric this evening and gave it a living room listen. This is a very useful module if you like to give a little more emphasis in the 60-100Hz range than the 40Hz band found as standard on their other eq's. I like to aim a little higher when using my main bass- it's like adding flour to the gravy instead of goosing the lowest booty tones.
It didn't take me long to decide to let my EQ42S go (Check classifieds if you're looking for one), but I must admit that I could not put my fingah on any discernible differences between the regular or HE modules, whether set flat, cutting or boosting. If the difference is in s/n or distortion, I will never know and I'll let someone else measure that. For me, having the ability to tweak the lowest frequency band was worth it. |

| | | | Doubling? My question is: Would this be good to double on Electric AND Upright? The two channels sound good so i don't waste my time inbetween songs EQing but would it sound good?
