Is this Momark the same as a F500 ?

Hi guys,

I tried yesterday the following Momark configuration :

• Digital power amp 600W @ 4 ohms
• S1M : Solid state preamp with a mute switch.
• Eq42S : 4 band EQ with parametric mids.
• MVVL : Master control with both filters and a line-out volume.

Really loved it but it's freakin' expensive here in Canada (1300 CAD). Also tried a LittleMark but I much preferred this.

So a pretty good amp, but a little expensive and big for my taste.

So I compared the specs and found the F500 to be pretty close, and cheaper. Now I know it has 500 watts but I'm guessing they might be in the same tonal range, since they're both using a digital power section and parametric mids.

So if a F500 is roughly the same as the Momark I tried, I'll order that little one right away instead.

EDIT : No stores around here has a F500, so I can't compare.

I don't know for certain, but I'm willing to bet it's extremely similar, if not the same. KJung's youtube account has some good sound tests of the F500 and F1, and you can compare it to the LMII: http://www.youtube.com/user/Kjungbass

The F500 is probably my favorite Markbass head out there.

I am loving my SD1200 and my MoMark 800 watt digital frame w the T1M the super duper eq and the top end post module

I can get similar sounds outta both but I would vote for the 800 watt digital frame for pure tone and the SD1200 for pure power both are excellent outstanding pure beasties and well built .
MarkBass is TOP QUALITY gear.

I am coo coo for COCO Puffs for MarkBass gear!!! I want more of it the new 212 club cab the compressor the distortion etc...

Never played the Momark 600 spec. All I can say is that the F1/F500 sound quite different from the 800 series amps, so not sure if that Momark spec would sound identical. I'm sure it sounds good, as does the F1/F500.

The size and feature set of the F500 is hard to beat IMO.
