Monolith cabs?

Does anyone have any experience with them? Nothing turns up in search save for a single thread about their Lodestone pedal.

The 415-RLF sounds badass but there isn't even a picture...I guess you would have to shoot them an email about it.

Anything?

I highly approve of what he's doing. I have not heard nor seen the cabs in person, but any guy building Sunn 2000s style cabs and Acoustic 408 cabs is alright in my book.

The rear load 215-RFH is designed with a 5 1/2” gap extending the width of the baffle
allowing mid-frequencies to project from the center of the cabinet. This cab is an exact
replica of the legendary Sunn 0))) 2000s.
Good understanding of porting too.

I was just turned onto these myself. They mostly seem to be Sunn Clones. Interesting though. Would like to hear the acoustic clone.

I'll have to see if I can check them out the next time I'm in Portland. I'm really interested in one of the fuzz pedals.

Somebody on Harmony Central ordered one. Those curious might want to go look over and bookmark the thread, check back in a while and see if there's a follow-up.

Cabs like this went out of fashion even before amps weighing more than 3 ounces did.

Total Doom cabs. There is definitely a niche market for this type of stuff, but you could probably buy the originals for what he's charging. Lodestone pedal sounds sweet but if I had that kind of bread, i'm going for the Aguilar Aggro.

Good luck to this guy, he seems cool from the little vid I saw on the site.

Hmm...I'd invert the slot loaded 15's on the Acoustic and put a low pass filter on them.

Seems to mostly be making clones of old Sunn and Acoustic models.

That's cool I guess. The 2000s copy looks fairly cheap, but you need to factor in the price of speakers, too, it looks like.

I own (2) Monolith Cabs, a BLKARM 2x15/2x10 Bass Cab and a Monolith 204 Bass cab. I ****ing LOVE them They are loud as **** and well made. I own many old Acoustic cabs. He used better quality and thicker plywood than Acoustic did BACK in the day. I have an ORIGINAL Acoustic 408 cab that is in good condition. I did replace the Original speakers that finally gave out on me with Eminence CB Legend 15" bass speaker. Now the cab is much heavier, but it sounds way better then it ever did! I am a fan of what he is doing, NO ONE else is doing it. I read on here that they are copies of stuff, but aren't Emperor cabs copies of other cabs. The reason i bought the BLKARM from Monolith cause it's like having 2 bass cabs in one. I use the BLKARM with an Acoustic 320 everyday with my band.

How does it sound? I dont think anyone was trying to be insulting, just merely stating what is on the website.

Courtesy NAMM bump...

Since NAMM, I've spent a few trips to the Verellen booth to try out the Meatsmoke which is, of course, a monster. The cab is built by Wade of Monolith and I have to say that cabinet kicks like a mule! It's deep, clean, and beefy. Whenever you crank up the distorted channel of the Meatmoke, there is a punch in the lows that you can actually feel in the ribcage! I was going to order some Emperor cabs this year, but after speaking with Wade (really nice dude, btw), it seems like I've changed my mind on this.

My band played with Antikythra last Saturday. Matt Blackarm (bass player) was running a 400ps into one of the BLKARM cabs. It sounded positively thunderous! One of the best doom tones I have ever heard. The cab looked very well constructed. If I was currently in the market for another cab one of these would be near the top of my list.
