I am looking at a Music Man Audiophile 210 cab. I was wondering what the general consensus is about this cab?
What are the pros and cons? |

| | | | +1 The company that become Markbass designed and manufactured these cabs.
The positive... punchy, tight, warm, loud
The negative... they weigh a TON.
Also, the 210 has a tweeter (the 212 had a mid driver) and I don't think has an attenuator (the early version of the MB VLE was included on the Audiophile heads to control the tweeter volume.... if I'm remembering correctly).

The 10 has great tone, I think 350w power handling, 1" tweeter, 1/4 & Speakon jacks, and weighs 60 or so lbs.
The 2x12 is a great cab, has a 6.5" midrange driver, 600w power handling but weighs 100 lbs.
A few years back they could be had cheap. I think I paid $250 for the 2x10, $350 for the 2x12 NOS.
They sound fantastic paired with the Sunn 300T, but then most cabs would.
A heavy rig - about 250 lbs.

Very solid cabinet with great power handling. It sound relatively deeper compared to the most 2x10 cabs that I've tried. The weight is the only downside, but I still prefer to lug heavy gear that I like than to play with light boxes which I don't like
You can check for Tom Bowlus' 2x10 shootout too - the cab was part of it. |

The HD210 is a truly great sounding 2x10 that is unfortunately very heavy, and yes, could use an attenuator on the tweeter. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
