Musicman cabs with GK 1001?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just picked up an Audiophile HD212 (600W@8ohms) and an Audiophile 210 (350W@8ohms), both Music Man cabs. They are both 8 ohm cabs, and I'm plugging each one separately into the (2) 1/4" inputs of my GK 1001rb2. Does this amp internally parrallel these into 4 ohms? Will this amp put out too much power for either of these cabs either combined or separately? If I try to use the 210 alone for practice, should it be ok? I was actually looking for a good used SWR Goliath3 410 when I found the Music Man stuff.

I'm hoping this will be a good combination finally. I bought a Backline 600 awhile ago and blew 3 cabs with that, 2 were Acoustic 410s (one at a time)and a West cab that had my favorite Vega 15s in it (those just tore the tinsel wires). I was starting to wonder if something was wrong with the amp, so I bot the 1001. Also have tried Crate, Peavy, Fender, and Ampeg (SVT) amps. I just couldn't get the right sound. I can't afford to buy and try everything out there, so I'm trying look at what equipment generates the least complaints in reviews and go with that. I play in a rock/blues band and like a deep, clean bass sound.
