Musis Man 212 HD130 Combo as Bass Amp?

Hey folks. I'm new to talkbass and just picked up some new gear that I want to experiment with. Right now I'm playing through a Bassman 100 with matching mammoth 4 x 12 cabinet. I just got a great deal on a Music Man 212 HD130 combo for my guitar. But, I've heard of people using the external speaker out to a 15" cab so they could also use it for bass. Is this possible or recommended? I'd ideally like to build a cab if so. The load is 4 Ohms. And recommendations how to proceed with this? Thanks!

I run an RD100 through a 2x15. Like it a lot... If I were you, I'd build a 'headcase'' for the amp, a cab for bass and another for guitar...
