Is my 700RB-II messed up?

Wondering if this is normal cause i've never noticed it before..

I hit mute, and although it gets quieter, I can still hear it. Volume at 9:00 with mute on is bedroom volume. ?

Sometimes, when I push power, it wont lock and will come right out. Then, when I turn it back on, there is a pop. This never happens if it clicks the first time.

if you push the tuning mute button, then it should go dead quiet., you shouldn't hear it.

Alright. It takes out slightly more volume than the -14dB pad does.

Im getting clipping in my 212 at abnormally low volumes as well.
Well this just sucks.

No sound should be passing to your speakers with the tuner mute turned on.

If I were experiencing that, I might open up the chassis and spray some canned air or contact cleaner around the mute button. Would be smart to get a second opinion from the board before you proceed with that just based on my word, though.

Wouldn't that void my warranty? I bought it fresh last august.

You have a defective power switch that should be changed. The mute should do precisely that: mute the amp.

Why did you not say that in the first place? Take the thing back and get the problems fixed under the warranty!

why would they let you swap the amp for another? Your amp problem is not theirs it's GK's. I would have thought that SamAsh would have sent the amp to a GK authorized tech for you though. I'd contact GK directly and see what they'll do to resolve your problem.

+1. If you contact G-K I'm sure they'll tell you the best way to proceed.

Maybe they have given Brian more hats to wear? Jason usually will go out of his way to help as well, I have not talked with Christine? You can always PM rag here on TB.

Yeah, sounds like that amp needs to be serviced - neither of my 700rb-IIs act anything like that...

I have never talked with anyone except Brian. Last time he did a great job in helping me out.

EDIT: Is it possible the amp could be what's causing the clipping at abnormally low volumes? It's odd though that it only happens in my 212. Which.. I have never pushed past bedroom volume.

I think I need to take them both in.
