I feel your pain. We had 5 feet of flood water at my home here in Jersey City when the Hudson river and NY Harbor decided to pay a visit to our neighborhood. Luckily my rackmount power amps and preamp were high enough to stay dry. Cabinets did not fare as well. Two Bergantino AE210s and my venerable Hartke 410xl (bought new back in '88 or so) were victims of Sandy.

Best of luck to you in rebuilding and repairing.

Please know I fully appreciate the traumatic mind set you were in. What I posted was more for other people reading the thread that may have an amp go swimming (fresh or salt water).
The good news to my eyes was you did not report pops, sizzles, sparks and the fault light came on. As a tech this gives me hope that the amp can be restored to working order.

It is all good B-string. I see exactly what you're saying! Your posts and comments are some of my favorites on this website. Boatloads of information that I have actually used numerous times!

Best of luck to you man. When I saw some parts of Atlantic City and the shore I was shocked! I hope you get some money for your losses. Most importantly, you and your family are okay!

Yeah, there are many used 700RBII's out there, but yours has history! Wouldn't it be nice to have YOUR AMP fixed? It would be a cool conversation piece, and a reminder that you made it through this freak of nature? Best wishes.

You are totally right! This is actually on its way to a very reputable tech in Connecticut tomorrow morning. It will forever be known as the "Hurricane Sandy 700RBII"

Please let us know how it all turns out. I'd definitely personalize it with some sort of non-defacing and non-tatoo-ish sticker or something if you are able to get it fixed. You know, anything can be fixed. "I survived Hurricane Sandy".

Will do sir! I like that idea alot. As stated before this amp will definitely remain with me for life. The story alone is too just much to let go.

That's great news. I could see them sort of painting themselves in a corner business-wise and end up with the entire east coast expecting new GK's but it certainly is nice to offer taking it in and checking it out.

You need to draw up some sort of BassSurfer "Sandy was here" logo for your gear....like a rig riding a wave with the NYC skyline or Jersey boardwalk as a backdrop or somethin'.

Yeah, that is my only fear too and that is EXACTLY what I told Gallien Krueger in my email. I mentioned how I didn't want this to be a "if we do it for you, then we will have to do it for everyone" type of situation, but the hardest hit areas are NYC and NJ. My street was actually the one on 60 Minutes last month with the homes that exploded and went on fire. The neighborhood I live in is very diverse and I don't think there are many GK players around here!

And yes you are right, I should create my own logo. It will definitely be an amazing story for years to come!

Will do Paul. I have faith in Gallien Krueger that they will come through in a positive way. I have purchased so much of their gear and brag about them to so many of my other musician friends. Built like tanks, full of tone, and LOUD LOUD LOUD!

Thanks Guys! The amp was shipped out this morning. I will keep this thread updated periodically. It (this thread) will act as a form of "documentation" and will be updated as time goes on. I hope this thread and all of our stories/comments will steer people in the right direction when they are stuck in a rut on choosing a new amp!
