Are most outlets 115v or 230v? How does that effect the speaker?

Match the voltage to the outlet you use.
If you're in the USA, select 115v.

It's not a question of how it affects the speaker--it's a question of whether your amp fails to operate, or even catches fire or blows up. You're in the US, set it to 115.

God had nothing to do with it; it was my cross-circuiting to "B" that did it.

In the Americas if you switch an amp to 230V you'll mostly just cut the available power.
Switching to 115V in Europe would kill the amp.

In Texas you'll need it on 115v
