My buddy's dad found a head in the trash! (BASS Head!)

My friend's dad found a bass head in the trash. I asked my friend what it was, (No musical background) and he said he would find out and tell me the next day. He called me up this morning and told me it was a GK Backline 25 125w Head. I'm going to his house later today to try it and see if it works. If it does, I'll try and buy it from him. Good find, or not?

that explains why it was in the trash because no one would pay anything for that head.

Cool! Let us know if it's trash or treasure. I will say that in some cases, it really doesn't cost as much as some people think to bring an amp back from the dead. However I don't know anything about the inner workings of this particular amp construction-wise, and you may have to pay an up front bench charge from an amp tech to take a look inside. From there one would have to decide if the cost of repairs, if it's fixable, is worth it to them.

Reminds me of that classic headline: "Headless Body in Topless Bar!" (New York Post, '82)

+1 My Peavey MKlll (bought new '78?) after thirty years of HARD daily driving, finally broke. Thought it was major damage. Turns out it was only a $20 capacitor.

Good deal. That's how I ended up with my 1965 Kalamazoo Bass 30 amp. A buddy trash picked it, all original speakers, tubes, etc.

Friend of mine worked for BFI back in the early 90s , stops over the house one day and says "Hey that heavy a$$ box thing you got on top of that big a$$ cab, found one just like it in the middle Red Lion and the Blvd". .........
funny thing is thats been the most reliable early 70s SVT Head I've ever had.
