Having played for decades and of course having heard and understood bi-amping for many years, I have never used it....until now. As the GAS continues to cycle from bass to amp to cabs to preamps to effects etc etc $$$$$ and back again, I am getting closer.
I have a Thunderchild 12AC on order. I WILL be purchasing an early 70's Ampeg V4/B as soon as a decent one shoes up here, on Ebay or CL.
But here is a current system :
Preamp/Amps:
Hughes and Kettner BATT tube preamp [ killer ] into TC Classic 450
TC Classic 450 direct out [ post EQ ] into Acoustic Image Contra series ll
Speakers:
TC Classic 450 head into an Acoustic Image 10/5/1 [ 10" woofer is down firing, see second pic ]
Acoustic Image head into an 606/3015 single 15 [ thanks Singlemalt !!! ].
Signal to the AI speaker goes through 2 preamps
Signal to the 606/3015 speaker goes through 3 preamps
This system was essential because if I just daisy chain the 606 and the AI speakers, the 606 is WAY louder. I can also partially low pass/EQ the 606.
Here is the creation:
