My first retolex Job

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, here a picture of my old peavey mark VIII bass head, and one of my cabinets. It had the standard black carpet on it, and I re did it all. I have one more cab to do, but here's my progress so far. If you need ANY advice in doing this, just let me know, I can definitely give a few words of advice.

Looks awesome! Love the Color! How much material did you use for the two in the pic?

Those were almost exactly 2 yards. I barely had any left over, and luckily, I didn't make any wrong cuts. I'll need another 2 yards for my 1X15" cab. I also repainted the corners and screws in high gloss, and clear coated it. And about 1 can of the DAP Weld Wood just for those 2.

Thanks! There are some minor imperfections, but can't notice unless you're really inspecting it. And an 810 Would look awesome in that color.

Where did you get your tolex? I'm looking for some neon colors, just not sure which one, yet.

Mojotone.com

Had the best reviews, and really good service. Here's a link, mines the Marshall Levant. I ordered 2 yards, and that was right under $50 with shipping. But the prices are pretty standard anywhere, they've got a good selection though.

Love the orange and black color scheme. Looks great, you did an amazing job on it.

I hate when Peavey used that teal blue color on their amps.....that orange tolex makes it look fantastic in my opinion.
