Hello, I recently bought a Mesa Boogie M9 Carbine. I love it for so many reasons. I usually keep the gain on 12:00 and the master at no more than 9:00. It's crazy loud! Recently though I find that I have to turn the master up to 2:00 to get any volume out of it. It's like it switched to some sort of "half power" mode. My bass is active so I changed the batteries and I still get half power. The ohm selector is in the correct position for the cabinet, The compressor is off, The e.q. is the same as when It had full power. I even tried different cables. I'm at a loss. I know Mesa has great support and I will contact them but they are currently closed for the day. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks |

It may be something small - it may not, but it apears you need professional help (that didn't come off sounding right at all, did it ).

With gain at 2:00, I would have to play a massive room to even have my master at 8:00!

Mesa is closed on Fridays so I guess I'll just have to wait til Monday and find out. As for my cabinet, Its one of those big old 2x15's and 1x8"? cabinet. 4 ohms. It only has 1 12ax7 in the preamp so i think if it were a tube issue it would sound really crappy. The amp still sounds great but it's just really quiet. |

The good news, is that their CS is supposed to be excellent.
I'd give 'em a call to see what they could do for you, rather than just dragging it in to a tech. I have no personal experience with Mesa, but if they are anything like Genz Benz, they might even overnight you a replacement... |
