After having yet anothe GK Backline 600 crap out on me Thursday, I found an Ampeg SVT 7 on craigslist local and picked it up, as I had two shows this weekend. What a great head! I love the tone I am getting now, it sounds so much more articulate than the GK ever did! I am now a happy member of the Ampeg family! |

We gig often enough where I need two heads in case one needs repair. The new backline I bought thusrday shut down ten minutes into practice, I think it was a fan issue. |

I know 2 in a row must seem like condemnation of the whole line, but that's not typical. Congrats on the 7Pro anyway- may it live long life and serve you well.

Sorry for misunderstanding

I got the svt 7 as I needed a head for a show Friday. I would still recommend the bl600 to anyone who asked. If it wasn't for the faulty fan I would have two now honestly. I am, however, extemely pleased with the sound of the Ampeg |

But I know of plenty of ppl with rev A's still going fine.

Rev C, same as mine. It rocks!
The only amp I like as much is my Mesa Walkabout. Different, but both great. Enjoy!!
Yep, If I'd've had TB earlier, I wouldn't've got a few lemons....

I have other 350-400 watt heads that appeared much louder..

| | Registered User | | | | | my LMII has more volume than the PF500.. it's weird.. I think the PF500 sounds amazing.. it's just without a PA/DI you are done.. and that's with two berg 12" cabs.. granted a lot of it is my dead roundwound strings.. I have an SVT CL.. but it's just so heavy and so loud for a small place.. it's not practical.. I save the SVT for larger deals...
Is there a USA-made head.. that rivals the SVT PROs? I had thought even about walter woods.. but Ampeg is a requirement for my bands... I agreed to use Ampeg heads.. and in a band setting, Ampeg just shines unlike anything else to me.. for covers. |
