This is my secret tone weapon, Vintage dual rectifier Matamp Lab Custom 100, it was built for Rola Celestion for testing guitar speakers in 1968. It ain't gone wrong yet touch wood!.
Its been recapped a couple of years ago just incase, with all new F&T and Rifa electrolytic's.
A good Matamp is a very good permanent cure for gas.

See if you can find an old Yamaha Ne1 1 band Parametric box its quite transparent and low noise and all the extra eq you will need for rooms etc if you use a passive bass.
