I thought these were made to order and take about 8 weeks to receive? You were able to just drive over and pick one up the same day without placing an order?

Yup, I called the store, they said they just sold the last one, but they can call the dealer and see if he has anymore in stock. The store called me back in 5 minutes, siad the dealer just received a shipment from Matamp the day before and he can have one at the store for me to try out the next day (this was on Wed.) Saturday morining (today) I drove down and tried it out. The rest was history.

I think the 8 week wait was if you wanted anything customized. I was considering customizing a few things like going with a traditional Matamp faceplate instead of the Green, and a regular drive knob instead of the 4 position switch, but the stock model souded great to me and I ended up deciding against the custom order.

Needless to say I'm going to have to sell some other amps to cover this purchase. Which one(s) go is the question.

'73 Traynor YBA-3?
'74 Sound City Bass 150?
Mesa 400+?
'79 SVT? (Not likely)

Mesa 400+ would be the easy choice IMO.

Right now I am leaning towards definetly selling the Mesa and probably the Sound City. The Traynor I would really hate to lose.

I would keep the Sound City as well!.
Hope you enjoy all the tone, quality and bulletproof reliability that this manufacturer is famous for:

This is my secret tone weapon, Vintage dual rectifier Matamp Lab Custom 100, it was built for Rola Celestion for testing guitar speakers in 1968. It ain't gone wrong yet touch wood!.
Its been recapped a couple of years ago just incase, with all new F&T and Rifa electrolytic's.
A good Matamp is a very good permanent cure for gas.
Mine makes me smile like a cheshire cat as soon as I hear it
sparkle into life.
See if you can find an old Yamaha Ne1 1 band Parametric box its quite transparent and low noise and all the extra eq you will need for rooms etc if you use a passive bass.
Ignore what I just said if your bass looks like this:

Congratulations! If you ever get around to doing some sound clips of the amp, we would all be eternally grateful.
