Hi all,
I don't normally start threads like this but I'm pretty stoked with my new set up and there are some aspects of it that I have found really useful.
Bottom Rack
All pretty standard stuff here. WT800B, DBX160A patched into post eq FX loop, Sabine Rack tuner (I wanted an understated looking one) running in line between the bass and the Amp.
Top Rack
X2 Rackmount wireless
31 band eq running in line with Ashton IEM200 In ears. I'm using M Audio IEM40 buds with a bass driver in them and I have had moulds fitted
In the back of the rack is a Behringer Micro mon MA400:
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/MA400.aspx
I am using the MA400 to introduce my Bass signal to the foldback mix we have on stage (we don't always have the luxury of our own aux send each) I can mix my signal to the standard foldback send with out everyone else having the bass in their FB. Using in ears is great but when using moulds it does block alot of sound out - so having a bit of the bass in there just helps reinforce it a little. It's very handy when playing fretless as it really helps you with your intonation.
So I run a line out of the back of the X2 into the MA 400, into the eq, and a mono send into the Inears.
There are 2 outputs on the back of the X2 so the other is going into the back of the tuner (it has jacks on the rear also).
If you don't have an X2 like mine - you can run a line out of the DI on your amp to the MA400. The MA 400 has a straight thru conection so you can run a line out of the MA400 straight to the desk. I have also tried a splitter lead out of the DI on the back of my amp which allows you to run to the MA400 and to the desk. Either works.
Just wanted to share this with you as it is really working for me. I am going to try running the top rack next to me side of stage rather than in top of my rig. This helps if you have a pedal board, and also allows you to monitor the input going into the Inears should it start to clip and fart out.
Cheers!!
