My new rig is coming together!

Sign in to disble this ad
old rig: Ashdown ABM500EVOII > SWR 2x15

new rig: Yamaha PB-1 > Crown XTi2000 > SWR 6x10

I can't believe how much better it sounds.
(I don't have the Crown yet, but I've tried it with a different power amp)

Now I just need to find a 4 space rack case!

I hate I had to hear about it this way...but congrats man!

Maybe I should look into a similar set up.

return my PMs and we can converse!

it's very basic and simple.....this is my first pre/power rig, and it's made me a believer.

I'll have to revise my pedalboard too.

My end goal is to have a dual rig.....especially with the Ric and Ric-o-sound option.
I could run the neck clean through the Yamaha rig, and the bridge with fuzz/dirt pedals through the Ashdown.
That would be AMAZING.

Tried to revise the pedalboard, but I think it's best the way it is.

Tried to use a Fulltone Bassdriver and EQD Monarch, but neither sounded as good as my RAT.

Overall, I wasn't digging my dirty tones as much with the PB-1.....the clean tone was fantastic. I'll have to find some middle ground.

I'm also wondering if the dubby neck pickup tone from the Ric is overloading the low end on my dirt pedals?

pretty much done.
Going to run dual cabs. 6x10 & 2x15 fed with each preamp to the amp in stereo.
Not sure if I'm going to do a wet/dry type thing, or just run both straight wet/wet and split my signal after my pedalboard?

The Goliath Sr is a fantastic Cab...bet it wounds great with the Yamaha preamp.

I have yet to wound anybody, but I am hoping to slay with tone.

It does sound really good.....the PB-1 is a little warmer and more natural than the SVT-IIP. The IIP has a really prominent upper mid quality to it.

I just updated my rig also.

Ampeg SVT 6 Pro and two SVT 410HE cabs. It sounds much better than my old GK rig.

It's a ported 6x10, so pretty punchy and full.

IMO, pre/power amp is the way to go for club gigs. Congrats!

Yep, a gigantic dual cab rig is definitely the way to go.

If you need to get loud, like tons of lows and clear highs, it's one of the best 610s on the market, IMO - the other being Mesa's PH610... definitely a very well made cab...
