My New Tagus 2x15

Sign in to disble this ad
So I picked up this Tagus 2x15 Cab on craigslist for $350 (with a peavey delta bass head that I didn't want but the guy wouldn't separate them). Anyway, it's very unique looking. I can only find a few pieces of info on Tagus. Here's what I know for sure: They were made in the 60's and 70's in Toronto. The build quality is really great. Heavy duty, fully insulated. There are no markings on the speakers, but they look pretty old, and they sound really good. The Model number is M8152. SN:007A. 8 Ohms. I'm using it with my V4b.

Has anyone ever seen any other Tagus amps, or cabs?

Tagus was a very cheap brand made here in Toronto. They went bust something like 25-30 years ago. I picked up some of their speakers surplus around the same time. Truthfully the drivers themselves weren't that bad for cheap speakers. I really hope the cab works for you.

They were around for a couple of years during the early 70's. I was going to buy the same 2x15 Tagus cabinet here in Toronto recently but decided to pass. I just didn't need it.

It sounds great... for a cheap cab. I will most likely upgrade the speakers, recover it, and get new grill cloth to match the V4b.
