My "new" TB153

Sign in to disble this ad
After reading countless threads and making my own mistakes of first trying to run my Ashdown Superfly through a single 15 and then an Ampeg B410HLF that I bought used from GC and went bad on me in less than 2 weeks, I found THIS beauty on Craig's List for $370 complete with slip cover!

I'm still pretty new to this community, and I spend WAAAAY more time reading than I do posting, but I just had to share with you all. It'll be gigged next Friday night...I don't know how I'm going to wait that long.

Thanks to those of you that continually post such great info for all of us "noobs" (I'm an upright player that is still getting used to the world of "electric music" )

Rock and roll.

Awesome. Play through that cab as much as you can and even run some recorded music through. The cab will sound even better - if you can imagine - after the speakers "break in" and loosen up a bit. Geez, what a price!!! The 3015LF speaker alone is worth about that much these days.

I have been thrilled with my pair of TB153 cabs.

Prices are rapidly increasing on these units due to the shortage and cost of neodymium used in the Nd2Fe14B alloy of the Eminence 3015LF neo magnet. I'm glad that I jumped on the wagon early.

Avatar now offers reverse baffles for these cabs, apparently (I look at the website a moment ago), so that two of them can be more easily stacked with the two mid-drivers near each other (for better sound dispersion of the mids).

Yeah...once I read enough on here to see the positive reviews they'd gotten and how they were quickly going up in price, I just couldn't resist.

I'm still learning a lot of the intricacies and differences between different types of cabs, but the versatility of this TB153 is very appealing.

I'm also fairly new on all the lingo AwkwardLoudness, but I'm pretty sure I get the gist of what you were saying: I made a purchase that I'm not going to be too disappointed about anytime soon.
