I use the genz benz. Personally, it sounds great and I haven't had need for anything better to practice on.

You mean you own all three and need to ditch two, or you've tried them/have them available to try, or you've decided from reading reviews that these are the three with something to offer you?

If it's either of the first two, stop reading here and go play them in rehearsals, at gigs if you can, etc, etc. If the last option applies, no-one can help you without knowing more about what you're after. Otherwise all you'll get is "I have this and it rocks", or something equally facile.

Nice cabs, Bro. I have an Ampeg 810 and a 215. I am really limited in my choices in basses as I am a lefty. So I don't have the caliber of basses that you do. I seek an overdriven tube tone as my ideal, I think the Genz Benz Streamliner 900 (6 1/2 pounds), Mesa BASS 400 (non +) (35 lbs all tube 225 watts), or adding a Tech 21 VT bass pedal can get you there, if this is the tone you are after, at nearly any volume level. I have no experience with the three particular heads you have, but depending on what your tonal goals are, and what sized venues you play, I would look into my suggestions. I have heard lots of good things about Genz Benz, but they are really pushing the technological envelope so to speak, some even think that they make all of their previous amps obsolete each year because of the new ones they come up with. I have also heard that the Carvin makes a better power amp than a head, and that Orange only makes one tone ... But the one sound they seem to make is a good one, IMO! I hope I helped in some small way, since I am not really sure what you are asking. If you like the tone I love check out the VT bass pedal, or buy my Mesa, LOL. At least you wouldn't have to pay duty as I did to get it into Canada. All the best my friend. Cheers.

i own the genz benz neo and the carvin bx 1500, the benz has better tone the carvin more pwr but imo is a little thin sounding. i like the genz benz for it's bottom but it lacks in tweak ability ..... the carvin may have to go.

That's a start. Does that mean it's between the Genz and the Orange? That's probably even less tweakable still.

Have you tried using a bass driver in front of the Carvin (Sansamp, Aguilar Tone Hammer, MXR Bass DI, etc)? One with a blend feature might let you dial in a thicker sound without getting to far away from the amp's tone.

Sunn has new cabinets? Pics please.

As far as the amps go, how about using a splitter and playing through two amps/two cabs?

Carvin is cost effective, i have tried a Genz and love the sound. The Orange sound i dont know if its for me. That said, i just bought a Carvin B2000. I'll add to the tone in other ways later on.

as far as the 'new' sun cabs they have been around for a few years, however are not the seventies folded monsters , and the carvin has two separate power amps that you can send and control the sound for each. in theory with the cost of carvin and what it offers
should be great, but no. just wondering what is a good bass driver that sucks no bottom end. i have tried the Aguilar db924 but not for me,many of my basses have pre amps.

I <3 the Tech 21 VT bass pedal, I find it thickens and adds a bit of grit to a sterile SS tone, but sounds even better in front of an all tube SVT ... it gives up some dirt without having to have it at house leveling volumes. Cheers.
