6L6 output tubes, how bad can it be?

I'm considering turning it into a guitar amp, it's got some decent iron.

If you got the know how, i'd say definitely try turning it into a guitar amp.

I'm assuming its got more than one channel, why not make one channel a bass and one a guitar? There are a lot of possibilities with this amp.

I have enough know-how to get more know-how. Know what I mean?

It has 6 channels, with a hi mu triode for each one
Something cool should come of this...

Also, there are 4 different rectifier tubes.
5U4G x2
6X5GT x2
Why would that be?

If it has two 5U4Gs it should have four 6L6GC that require them. the smaller 6X5GT could be for the pre-amp section or possibly the negative bias supply for the output stage.

The company still seems to be in existence so perhaps an email might procure the schematic.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do with the large number of extra triodes?

Isn't it though?
Yes, that is my policy. But you may not like the price I'd take to part with this mod platform from heaven.

Out of curiosity, what shops are you looking in? Actually in the TC or south of town?

I have only ever found true shite the few times I tried metro area shops.

Picked this one up in Bloomington.
Takes forever to get a deal though

looks like it has two RCA 6L6GC's and two Sovtek 5881WXT's in it, plus an awful lot of preamp tubes in there (metal cased ones too).

i'd just get it running to spec first and try it as is. IMO, it should sound pretty darn nice without any mods.

They're actually 5881WXTs and RCA 5U4G rectifiers.
Here's the tube compliment.

6L6 x2
5U4G x2
6X5GT/G x2
6SN7GT x2
6SF5 x5
6SC7 x2

It is currently up to spec and 100% operational.

And it does sound darn nice. But I'd like to do a few tweaks to it, master vol, gain control, tone stack, etc.
I'll post some sound clips when I get a chance...

Hey I've got one similar to yours. Mine came as part a complete PA system. It has 2 open back/12" speaker cabs that clamp together for transporting. When you open them up there's a space inside that held the head along with 2 mic stands. I'll dig the cabs/mic stands out and post some pics if you wanna see-em.

Anyways, I just installed a couple 1/4" input jacks in mine and wired them up the the mic inputs. I didn't really know what I was doing but Its been working fine this way for like 10 years now. I never used it much for bass duty but my guitarist has been gigging it for years as part of a stereo rig used along with his twin reverb. My Rauland gives a very unique overdriven tone that blends well with the clean from his Twin.

Here's my Rauland rig on stage sitting just left of my bass rig:
