NAD: Craigslist Hartke Goodness

Hey so I was checking craigslist during my lunch break and I happened upon an interesting deal. I haggled a bit and decided to meet the guy after work.

Well, I just returned home. Check out my haul:

Hartke 3500 350watts, tube preamp
Hartke HA7000 350 watts x 2, tube preamp, biampable
Harkte B90 (terrible cosmetic condition but works great)

Grand total of $200, plus the $2 I spent at 7-Eleven for a slurpee on the way there.

Both amps, though advertised as slightly faulty, work great and get a clean tone at every volume I've tried. The fan is a bit loud on the 3500 but I can easily get that fixed. My plan is to try it out with various cabinets and sell the one I like least. Any suggestions??

I hope more deals like this comes my way

congrats on the great haul

Haven't played with the 7000 or that combo, but you got the pick of the litter of the 3500s as that's the MOSFET version. I've played through a few versions/years of the 3500s and that's the nicest sounding one, so if it were me that's the one I'd keep.

Thanks! I'm pretty happy, I heard great things about the 80s MOSFET SS amps and I have always loved the sound of the 3500. I've never actually owned anything Hartke til now.

Is the 7000's biamping good enough to justify using it? The low pass manual biamping control is neat but I just don't know how well it would power two 4ohm cabs or 4 8ohm cabs, or how practical it would be for me. Although the thought makes me happy!
