Crest ProLite 3.0 There have been altogether way too many threads about combos, and low powered rigs recently. So here is one about a big rig. I have traded up on my Peavey IPR 1600 to its bigger brother: the Crest ProLite 3.0. Today was my first practice with it. Here is my signal chain:
Aguilar ToneHammer -> ART PC II -> Crest ProLite 3.0 -> fEARful 1515/66/1. Here is a crappy cell pic of my rig.
This rig is an absolute beast. Loud, clean and clear or nasty and gritty when I want it to be, low end for days. This rig truly feels like it has no limitations.

As I don't want oodles of dsp functions. |

As I don't want oodles of dsp functions. | I think some of the DSP stuff is pretty interesting. I just prefer to wait for some of the implementation to age a bit.

And I repeat, it's just a gut feeling thing, and I have no basis for that kind of thinking...just like to keep things simple when I can.
That being said, I'd love to try a Crown ITECH |

The beautiful thing about the ProLITE and IPR series amps is that just about anything will power them as a pre.

I circumvent this by running it off of the phantom power from my ART. That pairing is incredibly versatile.

I use my TH mostly for studio work but live I always feel like it's too easy to yank the power supply out of the pedal!

I bought it as one of the first owners (not much out for reviews when I picked mine up) and I've been nothing but happy with it. My 2X RBI setup into my Mesa PH412 is like a match made in heaven!
Such good tone, and my back REALLY likes the lightweight of the crest in my 6U rack case. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
