It was an impulse buy... I didn't really need an amp, but the price was right and I've been wanting one for a while now. Trigger was pulled and today, it's here!

One word: WOW!

This little mother trucker is LOUD and clear. I plugged it into the Avatar 2x12 and barely touched the volume and it's punching me right in the chest. And as you can see, it's tiny by comparison to my old head.

Has the tone, it's a ripping little head and I have a feeling we will be having some fun together. I just need to decide on a racking solution. I have seen little rack tuners about the same size, so maybe a 2 space case with this, a tuner, and a power conditioner... hmmmmm.

Anyway, it's a great head, I highly recommend it.

Why rack it? The whole appeal to these things is size and weight - tuck it in your gig bag and you're good to go!

I'm a clumsy guy, what can I say?!? The SKB case has saved me from beer-soaked GKs before.

I'm looking into soft bags or making a little wood box...

Oh, and of course, an Aguilar GS212 4 ohm pops up locally, too, which begs to reside under this.

Racked & Ready!

I also love the mb500. Its a loud amp with lots of warmth and creaminess if you dial down the high mids and treble. I love that its a 1u and so light. I rack it with a ART dual 15 band eq for a huge amount of control. I can get a round yet super punchy tone by adjusting the 25, 40, 63 and 100hz. Its alot of powerful control options for a tweaker like me. Add to that the two units combined are only 8LBS and its a great portable rig with tons of control.

Sorry for the poor quality pic which I lifted from my youtube review.

I also like mine racked because for me it really helps lessen the hassle of dealing with all the various cables. Plus its fully protected.

Unzip and go!

: ) Gee, that amp looks familiar!

I'm glad you like it. It sure does sound good. I wish they would make one of these that would work at 2 ohms... I would buy another in a heartbeat!

PART 2: NCD

Pulled the trigger on rayzak's GS212 for a compliment to the GK...

This setup is killer! The tone is fantastic, the cab is smaller than the Avatar (but that's a lighter cab, too). I'm not a weight guy, though, so I'm perfectly happy!

I'm going to run both of them at the same time tomorrow (slave one to the other)!
