NAD: Trace Elliot V-Type 5001 (300h)

Got the Trace Elliot V-Type 300h (even though I thought (hoping) it was going to be the 600h, stupid GC. I'm calling them tomorrow They told me it was the 600h. ).

Anyway, it's pretty FREAKING AWESOME.
Really tubey sounding. Lots of flexibility with minimal controls.
You can dial in scooped fat to hard mids to break up to clean smooth.

It should be loud enough....
It seemed loud, but who knows until the band kicks in.

One question.....this amp really moves the speakers....like my tube amps did.
Should I be worried?

I still need a backup.
I'd love to find a 600h.....then I would never have to worried about volume.

The amp was plenty loud at practice and I thought it sounded GREAT.
I had it at around 11pm.....noon would probably be gig volume.....depending on the place.

Seems robust enough to last me on tour.....

Overall, I'm really happy with the tone too.
EXTREMELY, tube-like.

Those trace V-types have always sprung my curiousity. I have found some decent deals on them, but didn't wanna pull the trigger without a plug and play session. The controls kind of remind me of my LH 500 with a gain knob. Is it based on the old bassman tone stack like the LH stuff? If it is, it should be pretty sweet. The lack of ability to crank up the gain on the LH is its only short-fall (IMO), hence is why I run a VT in front of mine.

Nice score BTW, Enjoy!
