NAD! Vintage EMC B800 + 115

Was looking for something different, so I went on a drive to a local man's home studio, where I traded my Acoustic 260 mini stack for this mystery of an amp. An Electronic Music Corporation B800 head and a Model 402 cab.

It's a relatively light grouping for what it is, has good mojo. But information on them is few and far between. The model number on the cab's plaque was hand written.

Anybody know anything about EMC?

The first scratch/dent is always tough, but every one after that is added mojo.

Well, I have a date!
While I was replacing the power cable (busted ground prong) the volume pot became completely seized. When I pulled it it was stamped 1972.

This thing has a very odd signal path.
input->volume+3 band eq->master volume->spectrum eq->monsterish PA blocks(also seemingly the ONLY gain stage, with all other components being passive)

The cab is pretty good, not sure on it's power handling, but I think I will pull the driver soon and see whats under the hood.

EMC were peavey and the like clones. They made tube amps as well. My friend has one in dispair that needs some love.
