The buyer had it totally restored by some one I know in the SF bay area to it's former glory. I still have a couple of nice Rick basses to cover me, my March 1973 4001 and Dec 2011 4004 Laredo in Ruby The 4001 now sports a '60s magnetic horseshoe pickup on it. Sounds fabulous.

| | | Looking very, very closely at some details... that looks an awful lot like one I've seen before.
Region matches. So does a name.
I think I might know who built your rather well known (in fEARful circles at least) cab. |

| | | There aren't that many 1212/6's in the wild. Few have ever been offered for sale. Fewer still with no tweet. Fewer still with extruded diamond grill. Two of which might be unlikely to have the exact same tiny angle to it that makes the gaps in the diamonds where it meets the right hand standoff go from smalerl on bottom to larger at the top.
It also happens to be in the same state as you in the US, and the owner has the same first name you gave. He'd tried to sell it before (downsizing), too.
If it's the one I think it is, I stared at it a lot while waiting for my build to finish. |

That's MX21's 1212/6, isn't it? If so, you've got the very first one ever built. Collector's item! |
