Need a basic preamp recommendation

I'm out of my element here, so I need some help. I am beginning to play my (passive) Barker Bass through a Bose L1 and I want a little on-board preamp and eq. For me, that is a small unit that will clip on the stand and be hidden behind the bass, so one of the belt type would be fine.

I want three bands of eq and I'd like to make it out of the store with a little jingle left over from a hundred dollar bill.

Am I wanting a little bitty house with a whole lot of great big rooms, or is this doable?

And if so, what model(s), based on your experience, should I be looking for?

Thanks kindly!

AFAIK, you will have to increase your budget to get what you are seeking, unless you can find something secondhand. If you can either way, I highly recommend the Sansamp VT Bass pedal, however it does not have a clip so you will have to improvise, there.

You going to use that L1 system as a bedroom amp? You try and push any volume and that thing will probably burst into flames. Lucky it has a 45 day return policy. Probably OK for a harmonica or an acoustic guitar, but that little sub isn't going to give you much zoom... Yeah I know, Bose and their stuff since 1970... Big price tag system to hang a 89.95 preamp on.
