need to choose an 810 from craigslist

Sign in to disble this ad
so i'm serious about buying an 810 now and have pretty much abandoned the idea of building one myself. there are 3 on craigslist in phoenix, all listed for about $550.

SWR Megoliath
Hartke HX810
Peavey 810 TX

i play in a classic rock / blues cover band and am using a behringer bass v-amp pro with a crate 1400 power amp and a carvin xb75. I also have an old peavey alpha bass (160w all tube), but i don't gig with it becuase its not as powerful and i'm scared about something going wrong during a show (although its never had any problems). ...i'd like to get an entwhistle like tone.

any help to the pros/cons for each would be helpful. thanks!

Hey man, add your location to your profile.

The Peavey is worth about 300 bucks, never heard the Hartke, and the SWR is a super nice sounding cab, but very heavy. Probably the best of the three, but I can't compare it to the Hartke.
