Hey guys im buying a new bass amp and have come to a bit of a stand off between 3 that I cant decide.

The 3 are the Ampeg BA115HP : http://www.thomann.de/ie/ampeg_ba115hp_basscombo.htm

The Ashdown MAG410T-300: http://www.thomann.de/ie/ashdown_magc410t300.htm

and the Gallien Krueger 600 Backline head with a Gallien Krueger backline 410 BLX-II cab:
http://www.thomann.de/ie/gallien_kru..._halfstack.htm

All come it at about €600. I play sort of mostly hard rock stuff but also play soul, R N'B and funk quite often..

Any help or advice that can be given is much appreciated.. Cheers

I personally would go with the Ashdown or GK.... 4/10's to me sound better than a single 15", I have had personal experience w/ Ashdown but never played thru a GK..... Ashdown has a great tone to ME... but may not be for everyone....

If you don't mind carrying it around, the GK rig offers a bit more in the way of future versatility and expandability . Also, unless your band is extremely loud, the GK should just about cut through the mix in a an acceptable way. The 4 -10's might sound better than one 15 for your funky stuff too. That Ampeg might not be powerful enough for you unless you also go through the PA system. I have no experience with Ashdown amps, but to me the most bang for the buck is still the GK rig. Best of Luck!

I have the backline 600, it gets LOUD. A little heavy, but not too bad in comparison to other amps. The contour thingy on it is completely useless (at least to my ears) and the overdrive isnt that great. It does have a DI setup though which is great. It also has a bit of that GK grit.

I don't know much about the other amps though, but for a 300 dollar piece of equipment its pretty nice.
