Anyone know of an amp tech in Fort Worth? Hopefully someone in the NRH/Watuaga/Keller/Haltom City area? I got this GK on a trade about a year ago and it's never worked properly. All the notes seem to fart out when I dig in. The sound is akin to what you get when you have a blown speaker. It's very strange. May just be a giant dust problem. I'm not really tech savy though.

The guys at Earhart Electronics in Arlington have always done right by me. They rewired the major components on a Carvin amp I have, good as new!

Do yourself a favor and contact G-K directly - that way, when you get the amp back, it'll be right...

Most times I've read here about someone trying to get a G-K amp fixed by a "tech", it rarely turns out good - I'm just sayin... Sure, it'll cost a few $$$ in shipping, but overall the cost will probably be close - and you'll KNOW the amp will be fixed right...

+1 on contacting GK. I can also recommed Slemmons Music Services in Dallas. www.slemmons.com. They do excellent work and have been in business for 30 years or so.

Scott at Vistalux amps off of Beltline has yet to do me wrong on the amp repairs he's done for me. I'd give him a call since he's on your side of town. He's repaired both tube and solid state amps for me.
