I have a guy that I met and he has an Aria bass guitar and a Kasino bass amp shown below that I am interested in buying from him. He does not know the value of it and does not know how much to sell it to me for. It plays ok and the bass will need a good setup. They have been sitting in his closet for years as he does not play bass. Don't know the size of the speaker. It is either a 12 or 15 inch. Never thought to look at the wattage. What do you guys think is I should offer him. If I am in the wrong thread please let me know.

Depends on how much you like them and how good friends you are with the guy.

I mean, you could offer him $50 bucks and if he goes for it, great. You say he doesn't play bass, so why does he have this stuff in the first place? If he played before and quit, you would think he would have some idea of the value of the stuff. More likely someone just gave him the stuff, or left it at his place, or something like that. So he might be happy to get anything from it and just get rid of it. But I'd say a "fair" price might be like $200-400 or so for both.

The best thing for you to do is figure out how much you are WILLING to pay for it. How much use will get out of the stuff and how much enjoyment compared to what else you could spend the money on (ie a different bass and/or amp).

Thanks, I appreciate the info. Some one gave it to him. He is a drummer and not a Bassplayer. It has been sitting in his closet for years. Got to thinking what you said about how much use I would get out of it. I would probably just use it for home practice as I have two rigs already. I think I will pass this up.

Again - Thanks
