Need help choosing cab

Sign in to disble this ad
Right on my current budget I have decided on the TC Electronic BH 500 as a head and now i need a cab. Does is matter what impedance the cab is relative to the head, or can i just invest in a good quality 8 ohm amp?

Don't buy a cab that has a lower impedance than your head. Your head will operate in the impedance that your cab rated. If your cab is rated at 500 watts @ 4 ohms it will be OK to use an 8 ohm cab, however you head will only push out about 300 watts. Use two 8 ohm cabs to get 500 watts at 4 ohms.
