need help deciding on a small combo or cab

Ok I am looking to add a smaller budget rig (talking $300 or under) to practice on in my living room. I already have a SWR350x/Avatar210 as my main, so something smaller is the way to go with this rig.

Initially I wanted to get a smallish 1x12 or 1x15 combo, but realized I have a free side on my peavey amp (400W@4ohm) plus an older yammy pre (pb-1) so I could get by with just a cab and not a combo.

So I guess I'll have to figure out if I want a portable combo that I can lug places, or to try to save some bucks (if any) by just purchasing the cab and using existing electronics.

I would like to hear suggestions as to what cabs/combos you would go for in this case. Totally not adverse to going used.

thx

Seems like this post got lost in the shuffle. I suggest looking used and grabbing a small bass cab off craigslist. You already have the Peavey, so life will be good. Not sure what you need here, but if it is just quiet practice, anything will do. Just avoid Behringer - not well-built products.

Check out the Older SWR Workingman 12 or 10. Built like proverbial tank, reasonably efficient, versatile (XLR out) and good for what you described. Romantic? No, but steady and dependable. And affordable to boot.
